Senator Cyril Oluwole Fasuyi represents the Ekiti North Senatorial District of Ekiti State in the 10th assembly of the upper chamber.
He is diligent, industrious, energetic, determined, and dedicated, but not keen on publicity. Unknown to many, he has represented his people excellently.
The average Nigerian politician often exploits this seeming lacuna to denigrate hard-working representatives who don’t show off by trying to make a big impression. They paint such Representatives in a negative light to upstage them.
But records don’t lie. Senator Fasuyi has acquitted himself very well in the 10th Senate committee. As the chairman of the Establishment and Public Service Committee, he has many unsung achievements in his sojourn as a representative of the Ekiti North senatorial district.
Those who want to be remembered for truth would not deny that Senator Fasuyi has been training youths since he assumed office. This is a way to help the federal government reduce youth unemployment and restiveness.
Senator Fasuyi’s ingenious idea was establishing youth training in essential skills such as soap making in the Ekiti North district’s Oye and Ikole local government areas.
Other training areas include poultry keeping in Ilejemeje, Moba, and Ido-Osi local government areas.
Fasuyi also considered the importance of agriculture to the people of Ekiti State, which is largely agrarian.
He invested largely in agriculture, distributing vital farm materials, including fertilisers, pumping machines, and pesticides across the five local government areas in the senatorial district.
In the area of health provision, Senator Fasuyi has enhanced accessibility to healthcare. He recently cleared the hospital bills of indigent patients amounting to N3 million at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti.
Senator Fasuyi has also done much for the welfare of the elderly in his constituency. He frequently attends to the urgent needs of the elderly and vulnerable members of society by regularly caring for widows and the aged.
More often than not, Senator Fasuyi swiftly responds to community concerns. There are instances in places like Isan, Ijesa-Isu, Ilogbo, and Ayetoro-Ekiti.
Fasuyi has provided solar-powered boreholes across the senatorial district.
He has also made his mark on the education sector. He has distributed JAMB forms free to thousands of students. The senator said, “In 2024 JAMB, we did about 400 forms, and in 2025, we have done about 350 forms.” The project is worth about N4 million. This is apart from scholarships he granted to countless students from the district.
He has also facilitated the employment of over 30 graduates from the Ekiti North district in the country’s civil service commission.
In the Senate, in addition to contributing to at least eight successful bills, Senator Fasuyi has personally raised bills that his colleagues have successfully passed. He raised the Tertiary Education Trust Fund Amended Act, 2024, and the Pension Reform Act 2004 (Amendment) Bill. These efforts have tremendously contributed to good governance in the country.
Fasuyi is a silent achiever, consummate parliamentarian, and politician.
