Angry residents have stormed the office of the Oyo State Governor at the state secretariat in Agodi to protest the killing of a secondary student by police officers in Ibadan today.

Police officers reportedly killed the student, who is a candidate in the ongoing WAEC examination for SS3 students, on his way to school to write today’s paper.

Reacting to the incident, angry protesters stormed the state secretariat with his lifeless body to protest the action of officers of the Nigerian Police Force.

Police officers who opened fire while pursuing a Hilux vehicle killed the student, according to Ibadan-based radio station Splash FM.

“Unfortunately, a stray bullet struck the student, who was in his father’s car, resulting in his death. The incident has sparked outrage and calls for immediate investigation into the actions,” the report noted.
