Eco Africa Digital, a leading digital marketing agency specialising in the African tourism sector, has been awarded a Silver Trophy at the prestigious International Travel & Tourism Film Awards (ITTFA) 2025.
The awards ceremony, hosted this weekend in Sandton, drew a record 448 entries from 60 countries, showcasing the best of global travel storytelling.
As a member of the Africa Tourism Private Sector Alliance, the agency’s award-winning short film, titled “A Story Worth Joining”, was recognised in the Tourism Services category for its emotive and compelling portrayal of Africa’s hospitality industry and the digital agency’s decade-long journey of shaping it.
“This film is deeply personal,” said Lizanne du Plessis, Founder and CEO of Eco Africa Digital. “It reflects not just our agency’s evolution, but the stories of over 75 tourism brands we’ve partnered with—from safari lodges in Tanzania and Kenya to boutique hotels in our home town of Stellenbosch. Every frame is a tribute to the wild beauty of Africa and the world-class experiences it offers travellers.”
Narrated by Du Plessis, “A Story Worth Joining” captures the heart of Eco Africa Digital’s mission: using strategic creativity, data-driven marketing, and powerful visual storytelling to drive tourism growth and connect Africa to the global travel audience.
For more than 12 years, Eco Africa Digital has been at the forefront of destination marketing, content production, and performance advertising in the tourism industry, delivering measurable results and creative excellence.
A Win for the Industry
Eco Africa Digital thanked their videography partners, Dagdroom Media and Horison Media for their excellent work. They also extended its congratulations to Sledgehammer Studio for their video award and fellow South African agency Love Africa Marketing, who were also honoured at the ITTFA.
“We celebrate this moment with every agency using the power of film and media to promote Africa as a world-class destination. This is more than a win—it’s a shared victory for the tourism industry,” said Du Plessis.
A Village of Visionaries
The winning film is based on over a decade of Eco Africa Digital’s serving 75+ tourism clients, including: Garonga Safari Co. (Greater Makalali GR), Grande Provence (Franschhoek), African Safari Collective, Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate (Stellenbosch), The Wilder Group (Kenya), Saruni Base Camp Luxury Safari Camps and Lodges (Kenya), One Thibault Hotel (Cape Town), In The City Apartments (Cape Town), The Salene Boutique Hotel (Stellenbosch), Foxes Safari Camps (Tanzania), Kisiwa Hotels & Resorts (Zanzibar), among many others.
“It takes a village to tell a story this big,” added Du Plessis. “Our clients trusted us with their brands. This Silver is just as much theirs as it is ours.”
