Beulahland Travels and Tours, a globally renowned intercontinental travel and tourism company, accused the Governor of Ekiti State on Tuesday of luring them to establish a new branch in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The company’s decision to invest in Ekiti is a direct result of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s strategic initiatives and the state’s compelling tourism environment, which has successfully attracted new businesses.

Mrs. Kareem Alimat Temilade, Head of Operations for Ekiti State, Beulahland Travels and Tours, confirmed the move during a business visit to the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development office, located on the 2nd Floor, Cabinet Wing, Ado-Ekiti.

“The management of Beulahland Travels and Tours has keenly observed the significant advancements and dedicated tourism development efforts spearheaded by Governor Oyebanji over the past 24 months,” stated Mrs. Kareem.

“His tourism strategy and vision have undeniably positioned Ekiti State as a desired and preferred destination of choice.”

Mrs. Kareem further emphasised that Ekiti has emerged as a leader among tourism states in Nigeria, mainly due to the comprehensive tourism re-engineering that commenced during Governor Oyebanji’s tenure. She also commended Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre, Director General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, and his team for their diligent efforts in marketing the state.

“The management is impressed by the strategy being deployed by the Bureau to sell and market Ekiti. I am happy I came here because I now appreciate Ekiti Tourism better,” she added.

In response, Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre expressed gratitude to Beulahland Travels and Tours for their investment, assuring them of robust collaboration and support. He reiterated Ekiti State’s leading position in Nigeria for Ease of Doing Business. He highlighted several key initiatives that Governor Oyebanji has implemented to create a conducive environment for tourism to thrive, including:

  • Enhanced security architecture, strengthening safety and security across the state.
  • Creation of a separate agency for focused tourism development.
  • Concessioning of tourism sites to effective handlers, emphasising that “government has no business in business.”
  • Implementing effective management strategies for tourism attractions.
  • Significant upgrades and development of facilities at tourism sites.
  • Operationalisation of a vital air travel hub by completing the Ekiti State Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport.
  • Creation of a Ring Road and overhead bridges to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion.
  • Prioritising environmental aesthetics and integrating communities into tourism efforts.

“It is precisely because Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has laid such a robust foundation that the Management of Beulahland Travels and Tours is confident in establishing a branch in Ekiti State,” Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre declared.

“Our doors are open. We are here to enhance and add value to any initiative or act that would add value to Ekiti State.”
