The lawmaker representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-West federal constituency of Oyo State, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, is set to commission a fully equipped Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Hub at Oba Abass Alesinloye Grammar School, Eleyele, Ibadan.
The commissioning ceremony, scheduled for Thursday, promises to be a landmark event, attracting key stakeholders from the education sector, political class, and representatives from the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
A Step towards Digital Inclusion
According to Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs to Hon. Adedeji Olajide, initiative is part of Hon. Olajide’s efforts to promote digital literacy and youth empowerment in Oyo State. As Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology, and Cybersecurity, he has been a strong advocate for integrating technology into education.
The ICT Hub, equipped with modern facilities, is designed to bridge the digital divide and provide students with essential technological skills.
Hon. Olajide, who is the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity’s said, “The ICT hub is not just a donation, it is an investment in the future of our youth and a statement of belief in their potential.”
The statement reads in part: “The hub is a symbolic push for grassroots innovation and digital inclusion, which is a core focus of Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide’s legislative mandate and constituency development blueprint.
“The ICT Hub is equipped with 20 modern computer systems, solar powered energy backup, smart boards, broadband internet access and standard e-learning facilities and is designed to serve not only the students of Oba Abass Alesinloye grammar school, but also neighbouring schools and youth within the Eleyele community.”
