The 1925 Ibadan Tennis Club has extended a warm congratulatory message to Oba (Senator) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja on his appointment as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The club’s president, Dr. Oladipupo Sule, and its executive committee members, board of trustees, past presidents, and entire membership expressed their heartfelt felicitations, describing the appointment as “worthy” and one that followed due process according to the laws and tradition of Ibadanland.
The club, which is celebrating its centennial year, expressed confidence that it will benefit from the Olubadan’s fatherly guidance and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Ibadanland.
The club pledged to continue partnering with the Royal Palace in advancing their collective interests and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the town and its people.
In a statement signed by Princess (Amb) Abimbola Egbesakin-Williams, the club’s Public Relations Officer, the members prayed for Oba Rasidi Ladoja’s good health, wisdom, and longevity to steer the affairs of the kingdom. They also looked forward to his coronation on September 26, 2025, and prayed for God’s protection before and after the ceremony.
The club’s congratulatory message concluded with a prayer for peace, progress, and prosperity to be the hallmark of the Olubadan’s long reign, echoing the popular Ibadan adage, “Ibadan a gbe wa o,” which translates to “Ibadan elevates us.”
