The Nigerian federal government has issued a strong warning to 14 states regarding the potential for heavy rain and flooding in the coming days.

FG spoke through the Federal Ministry of Environment in a forecast of heavy rainfall between September 4 and 8, 2025.

Heavy rain to trigger floods

The National Flood Early Warning Centre (FEWS Centre) of the ministry said the downpours could trigger floods in several localities across the country.
