The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has approved the elevation of Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide, a member of the House of Representatives and chairman, House committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity to the prestigious rank of Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (FNCS).
The conferment, according to Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs to Hon. Olajide is in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of information technology and digital innovation in Nigeria.
The notice he said, was formally communicated to the lawmaker through a letter dated November 12, 2025, and signed by the President of the Nigeria Computer Society, Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu, FNCS.
In the letter, the NCS leadership informed Hon. Olajide that the National Executive Council had considered and approved his application for upgrade to the exalted status of Fellow, the highest professional grade within the society.
Dr. Aliyu, in the correspondence, congratulated the federal lawmaker for his elevation, describing the fellowship as a recognition of distinguished service, professional excellence and sustained commitment to the growth of Nigeria’s ICT sector.
The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), founded in 1978, is the umbrella body for all Information Technology professionals, interest groups, and stakeholders in Nigeria. Attaining the rank of Fellow within the society is regarded as a high professional honour reserved for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of computing and digital development.
Hon. Olajide, popularly known for his advocacy for digital inclusiveness, youth empowerment and technology driven governance, is expected to be formally decorated at the forthcoming fellowship investiture ceremony coming up later in the year.
