The Alado Palace has denied allegations that it plans to confer chieftaincy titles on ten Fulani individuals, describing the claim as baseless.
In a statement, the palace expressed appreciation for the concern shown by youths and sons and daughters of Ado-Awaye, but clarified that there are no plans to award titles to Fulanis.
The palace recalled that in 2017, four Seriki Fulani were appointed to work with the Alado-in-Council to resolve farmer-Fulani conflicts, leading to relative peace in the community.
The statement also mentioned that the palace had allowed the Miyetti Allah Fulani association to inaugurate administrative bodies, but halted the process due to tensions.
The Alado of Ado-Awaye, Oba Rev’d Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace in the community and environs, saying the palace will not compromise on this.
The palace urged the public to disregard the false allegations, emphasizing its dedication to promoting harmony among all residents of Ado-Awaye.
