The recognition celebrates the firm’s unparalleled contributions, innovative projects, and significant impacts on the nation’s housing landscape over recent years. Organised by City People, a leading Nigerian publication, the event highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality, affordable, and sustainable housing solutions.
A Legacy of Excellence
Mrs Shukrat Karheem, representing the firm, expressed profound gratitude to the organizers for “recognising hard work and celebrating excellence.”
Speaking on the achievement, Engr. Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem (Mogaji Adanla), Chairman and CEO of Afia Group, attributed the success to years of dedicated effort. He noted that the public’s observation of the company’s trajectory is truly inspiring.
In a moving tribute, Mogaji Adanla dedicated the award to HIM Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, the Olubadan of Ibadan Land. He stated:
“Oba Ladoja conceived the Afia dream eight years ago and encouraged [me] to leave London, return to Ibadan, and establish the company.”
Redefining the Nigerian Skyline
Afia Homes and Properties has consistently pushed the boundaries of quality. The company is renowned for creating serene, secure residential communities that prioritise comfort and aesthetic appeal. Their portfolio includes landmark projects such as:
- Afia Court & Afia Apartment: Chief Lateef Oyelade GRA, Ring Road.
- Mandamis Luxury by Afia: Iyaganku GRA.
- Magdalen’s Court & The Crest: Agodi GRA.
Strategic Partnerships for Homeownership
To ensure premium housing remains accessible, the developer has entered a strategic partnership with Stanbic IBTC Bank. This collaboration aims to revolutionize homeownership in Ibadan and Oyo State.
Under the scheme, residents only require a down payment of 10% to 20% of the property value, with the bank providing the remaining mortgage funds. Repayment plans are flexible, extending up to 20 years for local residents and 15 years for Nigerians in the diaspora.
A Night of Double Honours
Mogaji Adanla, who also serves as the Turaki Adini of Oyo State, attended the ceremony with a high-profile entourage, including HRM Oba Dr Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Oyedepo III, the Okere of Saki.
Beyond his company’s success, the Chairman accepted a special award on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde. The Governor was named The Most Real Estate Friendly Governor of the Year, in appreciation of his performance in the sector.
