A former presidential spokesperson, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has been feared dead. Family sources confirmed he died on Friday at 71.
Details surrounding his death remain unclear as of press time.
Okupe served as a senior adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan and later as the Director-General of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign.
In December 2022, he withdrew from Obi’s campaign after a money laundering conviction.
He later resigned from the Labour Party after the 2023 general elections.
