Another petrol tanker conveying quantities of Premium Motor Spirit, commonly referred to as petrol, has gone up in flames in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, near Muslim Grammar School in Odinjo area, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The tanker reportedly somersaulted before bursting into flames. Many residents in the vicinity were reportedly thrown into confusion and panic as the fire broke out.
Firefighters remain at the scene, working diligently to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.
Details surrounding the incident remain sketchy at the time of filing this report on Tuesday, as the Oyo State Fire Service has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
It will be recalled that Oyo State has witnessed a spate of tanker explosions in recent weeks.
