FG Directs Oil Companies To Relocate Headquarters To Niger-Delta

The Nigerian Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has coordinated with the international oil companies working in the Niger Delta locale to relocate their headquarters to their states of operation to moderate pressure on host groups.

Osinbajo gave the mandate at a town hall meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, on Thursday amid a continuation visit to the area to exchange with partners.

The Acting President asked the Minister of State, Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, to start the way toward connecting with the international oil companies in transit to complete the mandate, saying, “I think it is the proper thing to do.”

He revealed that the Ministry of Petroleum is likewise working with significant oil organizations on a few activities, including; taking a shot at unlawful refineries to set up particular refineries to accomplish the coveted outcome.

On the Federal Government pardon program for ex-fomenters, Osinbajo reiterated the central government stand, taking note that the Ministry of Petroleum and Amnesty Office is working with the state administrations of the locale on giving advantages to youngsters in the states.

He underlined the significance of the Ibaka remote ocean port venture, saying that, the Federal Government is genuinely dedicated to its acknowledgement.

As per him, “In reality, in actuality, in the 2017 spending plan, there is as of now an arrangement for the Ibaka port. There is, as of now, N1billion arrangement. It is a matter we consider important to join forces with the Akwa Ibom State Government”, asking state governments in the locale to pull in private interests in their area, keeping in mind the end goal of making work open doors for adolescents.

Prior, Governor Udom Emmanuel spoke to the Federal Government to incorporate Akwa Ibom indigenes who were forgotten in the acquittal programmes and also focused on the requirement for the reactivation of the Aluminum Smelter Company (ALSCON) at Ikot Abais nearby government region of the state, to make more open doors for the general population.

He stated, “With the offices we have in ALSCON, we can’t see it anywhere in Africa; from the administrations, correspondence, to the power era, you can make seven benefits focuses.”

Representative Emmanuel, while lauding Prof. Osinbajo for a visit, additionally requested the support of the national government for the culmination of the upkeep, repairs, and redesign (MRO) offices at the Akwa Ibom International air terminal to help repair flying machines, guaranteeing that, any money related help for the fulfilment of the MRO will be discounted in a matter of moments from income created from the repairs of air ships.
