The campaign for the Oyo South senatorial election has commenced with new legislative realignments in Oyo State. Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, the member representing the Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has met with local government and ward executives.
The politician is contesting the seat on the platform of the Allied Peoples’ Movement. The strategy session focused on grassroots mobilisation Ibadan ward networks required ahead of the 2027 general election.
The meeting took place in Ibadan and drew party members, political stakeholders, youth leaders, women’s groups, and local supporters from across the federal constituency. According to organisers, the forum focused on strengthening the internal party structure, fostering unity, and consolidating support for the political platform across the two local government areas.

While addressing the gathering, Olajide thanked party leaders and members for their commitment, resilience, and support amid the changing state’s political landscape. He stated that local party executives serve as the necessary foundation for any successful political movement. He noted that their daily work remains indispensable to the organisation’s electoral success.
The lawmaker explained that the session is part of a broader series of consultations designed to integrate stakeholders into ongoing political realignments. He urged party leaders to remain disciplined and focused, noting that internal cohesion is necessary for future electoral success.

The candidate for the Oyo South senatorial election stated that his political approach relies on regular consultation and inclusion with party members. He assured the executives and party faithful that their contributions would continue to receive formal recognition. He added that every member maintains a functional role in building a competitive political platform.
Turning to his legislative ambitions, the lawmaker detailed his plans to expand his representation beyond his current constituency boundaries to the entire senatorial district. His stated platform for the district focuses on human capital development, digital innovation, youth and women empowerment, educational advancement, economic inclusion, infrastructure development, and enhanced legislative advocacy.

Olajide stated that his current tenure in the House of Representatives has provided the necessary experience to manage the larger responsibility of representing the nine local government areas of the district.
