During the recent Eid-el-Maulud celebration, Hon Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, the Oyo South senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) and member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West federal constituency in the House of Representatives, donated ₦10 million to the Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Central Mosque at Iwo Road, Ibadan.
The lawmaker announced the financial support during Friday Juma’at service at the mosque. He joined Muslim faithful in worship to reflect on the birth and life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), highlighting his core teachings on compassion, sacrifice, and service to humanity.

Describing the Eid-el-Maulud as a crucial period for Muslims to renew their commitment to the virtues shown by the Prophet, the lawmaker urged that the event should go beyond regular festivities. He noted that the occasion ought to inspire deeper love, unity, generosity, and genuine care for the vulnerable members of society.
He stated that his decision to assist the Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Central Mosque stemmed from his firm belief that places of worship serve as essential pillars for moral and spiritual guidance. He added that backing religious institutions forms an integral part of his ongoing commitment to strengthening social bonds across local communities.

Located along the busy Iwo Road axis, the Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Central Mosque stands as one of the most prominent Islamic worship centres in Ibadan. The landmark was founded by the late Aare Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao, a distinguished Muslim leader and philanthropist who dedicated much of his life and resources to advancing Islamic activities and charitable causes.
According to the Oyo South senatorial candidate, the ₦10 million gift was given in the true spirit of the season to sustain local religious and community initiatives. He extended his warmest wishes to all Muslim faithful for a peaceful and spiritually enriching celebration.
