It is a two in one celebration for the CEO and publisher of Celebration International Magazine, Mr Olusegun Babalola, as he received a prestigious African Award of excellence in media practice, on Saturday, 1st January 2022.
The recognition coincided with the first year anniversary of the launch of Celebration International Magazine in London, UK.
The award ceremony was one of the major highlights, during the premiere of the highly anticipated Nollywood Epic movie – IBANLA, produced by Fakon Empire Entertainment, UK.
The award ceremony which took place at the Ripple Centre, London, honoured notable blacks in the UK who have contributed to the development and growth of the entertainment industry globally.
Babalola, while dedicating the award to God Almighty who gave him the divine wisdom which led to the establishment of Celebration International Magazine, he said though the honorary award for media practice, is a recognition of his outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry, it is also a call to do more excellent work in 2022.
Mr Babs, as he is popularly called in the entertainment industry, started as a media practitioner from the Nigerian Tribune, where he worked as a graphic designer in the Computer Department.
Speaking at the occasion, the International President, Fakon Empire Entertainment Academy for international Appreciation and Recognition Awards, Favour Agbon-Konkon said: “Entertainment has created thousands of independent and commercial employments through the participation of such activities like: promotion, publicity, journalism and film making which involve people in and outside of African entertainment settings” Adding that: “Every man and woman of colour need to understand that we need to appreciate who we are and where we came from”.
The credible excellent awards in filmmaking, music, media practice and comedy are intended to promote African cultural heritage and celebrate contributions of entertainment businessmen and women.
