A military checkpoint located at Zuma Rock, a border between the Republic of Niger and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, was attacked by suspected terrorists on Thursday evening.
Information on the attack is still sketchy as of the time of filling this report.
However, it was reported that personnel from the Nigerian Army have launched a clearance operation in response to the attack.
The incident was said to have caused gridlock in the area.
Our correspondent also gathered that the Mandala-Kaduna road has been cordoned off by the Nigerian Army.
Efforts to contact the Director of Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, were unsuccessful.
