Aminu Alhassan Dantata, a renowned business mogul and elder statesman, declared that he no longer finds pleasure in life at the age of 91. He added that he is hoping to depart this world in good faith.

The Daily Trust reports the wealthy businessman as saying this when he played host to the vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kashim Shettima, in Kano.

He disclosed that many of the friends and people he met across Nigeria at a young age have died. He noted that he could hardly call out 10 who were still alive.

“I have travelled to all the states in Nigeria, and I have done things with people across all states; many were friends, but sadly, of all the people I know, I can hardly call out 10 that are still alive.

“Honestly, as I am right now, I am just waiting for my time. I no longer enjoy life anymore. I hope I depart this world in good faith.

“I hope I did not offend anyone in life. If I offended anyone, I hope they find it in their hearts to forgive me. If anybody has offended me, I have forgiven them.

“I am now the only one left in my family, living with grandchildren.”

Expressing joy and appreciation for Shettima’s visit, Dantata prayed for Nigeria’s everlasting peace and harmony.

“May God not leave us with our efforts alone; we pray for his continued guidance and protection,” he added.

Aminu Alhassan Dantata explained that the purpose of visiting Danata was largely to reach out to elder statesmen about the ongoing project in the north ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The statement made by Alhaji Dantata is germane and certainly food for thought particularly to our teeming youths, who think wealth is everything. What I can deduce from what the old business mogul said is that- the most important thing in life is not necessarily how much money you have or how long you’ve lived but how good your life is in relation to others. You heard the man asking for forgiveness from those he might have offended. He’s thinking in retrospect and feeling some worth guilty. Let every one do the same but early enough.

The confession of this great statesman should inspire people, especially the youths that are chasing after material wealth as the end of everything. Some of them are into dubious and sacrilegious lifestyles for sake of wealth makings. This worthy advice from elder statesmen should serve all right. The earth doesn’t end in the acquisition of material wealth but in maintaining of stable relationship with Yahweh and fellow human beings. At the end of each life, what counts should not be how much you saved in your account but how you touched people positively.

Unripe pastors everywhere. Now read this👉John 17:3 then come back and tell me who Jesus is. God or messenger? Stop deceiving yourself Mr man. Also to remind you that you’re out of topic here. Your church or shrine should be the best place for you to preach your ignorance you call the gospel. I come in peace.

Life is enjoyed for a moment no matter how much is acquired. What vanity is life, especially if not lived with eternity in view.

This life is confusing, I have been begging God to come and take me away due to hardship and here is a very wealthy man who can afford anything in life also tired of living. GOD HAVE MERCY ON ME!

This is food for thought. I wish our politicians can understand the words of this great man in business and rethink. They have wrongly managed our God-given resources and accumulated them for their grandchildren.

May God have eternal mercy on the gentleman’s life here & after. I had forgiven him, & that’s if he might have offended me in any way. Also, I expect the same from him. What the old man said is aptly on point, cause they are ‘words of wisdom’ he poured out there, left for our generation to have rethink what life is!!!

People who think wealth is everything in life are living in fantasy. Before you know it, money is worth nothing. Go to the western world, there are billionaires and millionaires in hospitals with cancers and other diseases dying and their money cannot save their lives. So, what is this money after all which makes one go to the extent of killing one another!!!!

What an irony! While growing up one would think wealth is limitless and enjoyed.
But look at somebody who has seen all the good things of life and is no longer at peace with himself. I’m having a deep rethink of what life is.

Alhaji told the visiting vice presidential candidate the truth about the life we live. The visitor, being one of those who have the ambition to be everything in this world by crook or good, should listen. From local govt chairman to the house of assembly to governor to senator now to vice president, haba! One person!!
