It was a celebration galore as top societal celebrities stormed the residence of the international caterer and socialite, Mrs. Alaba Ogunbayo, popularly called Iyameto, on the Ringroad, Ibadan, Oyo State, on August 18th, 2023, to celebrate her birthday. Iyameto is the owner of the popular Ibukun Olu Catering Services.
A grand Thanksgiving reception was held for Mrs. Ogunbayo at her place of worship, the New Orisun Ayo Church of Zion, headed by the General Overseer, Pastor Solomon Ikuemola, who accorded the celebrant fondly called Iya’kuemola with much respect.
The Ondo-born musician, popularly called Akela, got people’s attention with a danceable rendition.
Accolades were given by ministers, elders, Baba Ijo, well-wishers, son and daughter-in-law, co-landlords, and Engr Olukayode Adegunwa. Erelu Modupe Martins of Holy Cross C&S Ona-Ope Mi Po described Ibukun Olu as an encourager with healing words; “her strength gave me comfort.”. While a co-landlady, Iya Niy,i said, “I must confess that “the celebrants’ zealousness and strength are exciting.”
Among others present were Mrs Toyin and Mrs Jubrli. The C.E.O DOF Catering Institute described her as a disciplinarian, while Iya Ewe of C& S Church of Zion, Zuzan Gold, also described Ibukun Olu as a giver and a caring mother, with her last fruit, Mr and Mrs Segun Ogunbayo.
