A fast-rising and award-winning Botswana Afrobeat artist, Mambo Ntema, has released a new album titled Mmamosadiachipi.

According to Ntema, Mmamosadiachipi is a compilation of 10 massive Afrobeats, with a metaphorical, poetic introduction that takes you on a poetic journey through the shadows of a beautiful rose, a letter, in the expression of love and affection, diversity and creative imagery.

“The album is a story told in a countryside-inspired melody, rhythm and storylines. It celebrates the beauty of a woman in her abstract and physical self. It embraces Mother Nature’s women’s kind. All the songs have an interesting linguistic diversity, snaking through the native languages in Chikuhane, Shiyeyi, Thimbukushu, Setswana and English,” Ntema disclosed.

The album features some of the greatest talents like Koolkat Motyiko on Mmamosadiachipi, Rita Christopher on Napemba, Nishu on Shinning Starr and Tay Boz on Wena.

The album has other great songs such as Mantjitjana which refers to a fine girl; Muntu Wangu, which means My Person, Pula which narrates the goodness of rain, Thelerini which talks about getting your woman a present, even wild fruits; and Yarubi, which narrates the countryside love life of a beautiful rural girl with her country boyfriend.

The Inspiration…

Mambo Ntema in a chat with REPORTERS AT LARGE revealed that music and other artistic forms of expression are inspired by real life, nature and positive vibes. “I like creating, narrating and telling the African story from the African perspective. I write what relates to the heart, to promote love and unity, gender-based violence, and deviance, and also celebrate life and humanity,” he said.

According to Ntema, the music speaks a language beyond word and sound: “it captures the beauty of life and love, leading us to a dream of such abyss and complex realities. It is the song, beat, and impact on your heart.”

Ntema, who dreams about sharing performance stages with international artists from Africa and the world to spread positive vibes and good vibrations, described his late mother, Ndaruka Ntema, as his mentor who nurtured him into who he is.

Collaboration

Ntama expressed his intention to collaborate with professional artists from East and West Africa, to work on a single or lyrical presentation to sing for Africa. He said, “We ought to blow this melodious horn from our motherland and unite our continent through music because when music hits you, you feel no pain.

The award-winning Afrobeat singer has released three albums: Stranger, with 22 tracks released in 2021, Mpambo with six tracks released in 2022 and the just-released album, Mmamosadiachipi, with 10 tracks.

He works with Tay Boz, his Executive Producer at Hash Tag Music in Kasane from Northern Botswana.

Ntema’s albums are fast-moving on all major digital music platforms, including iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Apple Music and BoomPlay.

Neema bagged Best Reggae Dancehall Album at BOMU Music Awards in 2021 and Best Reggae Dancehall Afrobeats album at BOMU Music Awards also in 2022.
