Governor Seyi Makinde’s unwavering commitment to tackling insecurity through proactive and technology-driven measures has again been demonstrated with the arrival of Oyo State’s surveillance aircraft, Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole (Wolekanle) has said.
Wolekanle described the development as a bold and strategic investment that will strengthen intelligence gathering, enhance aerial surveillance, and further reinforce the state’s security architecture in the fight against kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities.
He said the aircraft would provide real-time intelligence and improve coordination among security agencies, enabling them to respond swiftly to security threats across every part of the state, particularly in vulnerable rural communities and forest areas.

The Local Government Service Commission Chairman noted that Governor Makinde has continued to demonstrate responsive and visionary leadership by investing in initiatives that guarantee the safety of residents while creating an enabling environment for businesses, agriculture, tourism, and other economic activities to thrive.
Bashorun Akinwole urged residents to complement the government’s efforts by remaining vigilant and cooperating with security agencies through the timely provision of credible information.
He expressed confidence that the aircraft would significantly boost ongoing security operations and further consolidate Oyo State’s reputation as one of the safest and most peaceful states in Nigeria.
