THE Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano is set to re-engineer the tourism assets of the state for the benefits of its people and glory of Nigeria.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Indigenous Art Works, Diaspora, Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Sally Mbanefo, said this while briefing pressmen in Abeokuta, during the second edition of Drum Festival powered by the Ogun State government.

Mbanefo, who disclosed that she attended the festival on the enthusiastic prompt of Governor Obiano who believes in cultural integration as a tool to foster national unity, revealed that Chief Obiano has set in motion functional re-engineering process that will stimulate vibrancy of the tourism sector.

Her words: “The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has put in place a sustainable tourism enhancement strategic plan module which will entail tourism assets profiling, inspection, identification, certification for comprehensive alignment for purposeful enhancement. Governor Obiano is desirous at mobilising the tourism asset of the state for purposeful and economic productivity.

“The Governor has given us a marching order of prioritising in sequential order the tourism variables, ingredients’ and potentialities of the state and map out the ways and manners with which they will be compatible with the developmental aspiration of Anambra people.

“Governor Obiano has a special understanding of the import and economic advantages of a well-developed tourism sector. He is doing all things humanly possible at re-engineering the sector for the benefits of the state. And I am assuring you that, within the next few months, Anambra State will be the center of tourism attention.”
