Osaze Odemwingie, a Super Eagles forward, has joined Bristol City on mortgage for the rest of the season, Stoke City’s official website confirmed on Friday.
Odemwingie, who moved to Stoke in January 2014 from Cardiff City as a part of a participant swap with Kenwyne Jones, has failed to score in eight appearances for the Potters this period.
“I’m looking forward to working with him,” Robins’ head coach Lee Johnson advised the membership’s website.“I’m delighted we’ve brought someone of Peter’s quality in; he’ll provide us with experience and hopefully goals in one form or another.
Odemwingie will be a part of Bristol’s squad for Saturday’s game against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
He enjoyed his prolific spell in England at West Brom – where he netted 31 goals in 90 appearances.
Bristol City are currently 20th in the Championship table, two points above the relegation zone. “The club would like to take this opportunity to wish Peter every success in his time with the West Country club,” Stoke wrote on their website.
