GLOBACOM has been announced as the official sponsor of the first ever Africa Regional Arbitration conference of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
The conference that is expected to draw delegates from all over the world is being organised by the International Court of Arbitration, an arm of the ICC, in conjunction with the International Chamber of Commerce, Nigeria.
The three-day conference slated to hold between 19 and 20 June, 2016 has the theme: “Arbitration and Africa: Prospects and Challenges.”
According to the organisers of the event, the conference will focus on the relationship between inward foreign investment in emerging markets in Africa, the types of disputes which may arise, and the African experience in arbitration proceedings.
Among the dignitaries expected to attend the event are top government officials to be led by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, who will be the Special Guest of Honour. The conference will also be attended by legal luminaries across the world.
Globacom, in a statement, described the conference as timely and consistent with the rising profile of alternative dispute resolution globally.
