NIGERIA President, Muhammad Buhari, has been urged to be equitable, honest and realistic in dealing with critical national issues which are affecting the growth of the nation.
This appeal was part of the resolution of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Ogbomoso Diocese at the end of the third session of the third Synod held at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Ogbomoso.
The synod in a communiqué, signed by Rev’d Dr. Titus B. Olayinka, observed that a lack of true commitment to the nation, which it ascribed to the result of lack of patriotism and fear of God, while it also the showed concerns about the unresolved menace which such as corruption, insecurity, and political instability, which according to it, has been bedeviling Nigeria for many years.
They Synod however appeals to the president to also diversify the economy from being mono economy and be committed to other sectors particularly Agriculture by making facilities available for indigenous farmer in revamping the economy which is presently in shambles and curbing the present mass unemployment among the youths
.
While expressing dissatisfaction with the continuous delay of completion of Ogbomoso-Oyo express road, the SYNOD urges Federal government to expedite actions on the completion of the road which is presently claiming several lives
In its message to the state, the SYNOD congratulated Senator Abiola Ajimobi on his electoral victory and appeal to him to look into the issues of nonpayment of salaries of workers and pensions and gratuity of the retirees in the state.
They also appeal to the Governor to revisit the ban on morning devotions and prayers in public schools in oyo state with a view of improving the moral and spiritual health of the pupils
