STUDENTS of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) on Thursday hosted Nigeria’s most celebrated music concert for students, the Glo Campus storm.
The In-door Sports Hall of the university, where the event was held proved too small to contain the crowd which trooped in in thousands to watch performances by two of Nigeria’ s most talented musicians namely the Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, Timaya and the Nabania creator, Flavour. Also, Asterix and other aspiring music stars were on hand to add pep to the fun dispensed by the bigger stars.
Warri-Born ace comedian, Bovi, who was the anchor of the concert got the crowd in stitches with laughter with his jokes.
While Asterix opened the stage with his ‘Yapa’ and ‘Okpeke’ , the fun went a notch higher when Timaya emerged with his ‘Babalawo Power’ hit track and moved on to ‘Jehovah’, ‘Ogologoma’, ‘Bom Bom’, ending with ‘Won Fe Pami’ which the crowd sang along with him line for line.
Flavour put the icing on the cake with his superlative performance with hits like ‘Jeun Soke’, ‘Adanma’, “Baby You Too Fine’, ‘Sexy Rosie’, ‘ Osondu Owendu’ and closed the show with ‘Waka Waka’.
The beauty competition to select the “Glo Campus Data Diva” and the “Glo Campus Data Dude” was just as spectacular as the performances by the artistes.
