THE officials of the default ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Movement (MMM), in conjunction with a non-for-profit organisation known as the Hope Givers Humanitarian Services, on Friday donated some educational materials to assist pupils remain in school.
They distributed school bags, exercise books, pencils and other learning materials to a number of pupils in FOA Primary School 2, Okokomaiko, Iba Local Council District Area in Lagos State.
The gesture, which was well received by the pupils, was tagged “Welcome Back To School.”
An official of the NGO, Saheed Ahmed, said the goal of the donation was to give the kids a sense of belonging, which will help them learn better and remain in school.
He said his organisation fund the initiative by collaborating with bigger pockets like MMM.
Saheed speaking said, “What we do is to identify areas people are in need and once we do that we contact corporate platforms for sponsorship.”
“In this case we contacted MMM for sponsorship since they are a humanitarian platform and they responded. We told them we had identified a school in our community that is in need hence we have provided all these for the betterment of the pupils today.”
“A lot of the students here are in dire need of critical educational materials so the aim is to donate school bags, sandals, exercise books, sandals and stationary among other items to needy students so that they can have a sense of belonging.”
Miss Amaka Benson, a member of the Ponzi scheme said the organisation runs a skill acquisition centre as well as a charity platform through which it contributes to society.
