SAMUEL Ladoke Akintola Foundation said its using part of the country home of the former Premier of the Western Region as a resource centre for academic research.
This was disclosed by the Cordinator of the foundation, Mr. Yemi Adedokun, at a press conference and facility tour of the building, held in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

According to him, the children of the late Premier have resolved to restructure the facilities for public use.
He disclosed that Dr. (Mrs.) Bimbo Akintola and other members of the family are committed to ensuring that the resource centre is of international standard with e-library, recreation centre and others facilities.
“Already, we are working on the library with over 5,000 books found ibn Baba’s library. Work has also commenced in fixing the Olympic-size swimming pool and other things that will bring real picture of what the late sage had in mind when he was building the house,” Adedokun said.
He also disclosed that the family was planning to restore the statue of the late sage at the parliamentary road and the motion he moved for independence would be fixed by its side.
While unveiling the the programme of activities lined up for the 52 years remembrance activities slated for January 12, 2018, Adedokun said notable personalities, including the governors of the South West, traditional rulers and captains of industry are expected to grace the event.
Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State is expected to deliver a lecture entitled “Democracy, National Integration and National Development,” while Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Governor Aminu Tambuwa of Sokoto State, are lead discussants.
