THE leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP‎) on Tuesday warned the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government over the alleged incessant harassment of its members through the anti-graft agencies ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Speaking at a meeting with the members ‎of the Board of Trustees (BoT) who came on a solidarity visit to the new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus warned that the PDP as the main opposition party in the country would no longer tolerate such injustice act again.

He call on all members of the public and the International community to take judicial notice of injustice being met out to the members of the PDP by the ruling APC led Federal Government all in an attempt to retain power come 2019.

The National Chairman however vowed that the APC, no matter the level of their antics would be beaten silly come 2019 general election as the PDP would not be distracted by all their antics, saying, “enough is enough.”

According to him, “just last week, a foremost senior member of the Party and former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, was invited by the anti-graft agent of the government for just no reason, he was humiliated, there is nowhere in the world where such can happen to a former President. Nigerians should take notice of this, the international community should also take notice.

“Nigerians are now wiser, you can not fool them twice, all the promises made to Nigerians have not been fulfilled. Almost three years of misrule, when they see that there is no way out of the mess they find themselves, they resort to intimidation and harassmsnt of our members.

“I make bold to say that Nigerians will speak in one voice again through the ballot box on t‎he elections day and vote the government out of power, there will be no hiding place for them on that day.

“It happened to us in 2019 when the PDP was voted out of power, we handed over power voluntarily, so also it will happen to APC come 2019, they will be voted out, they have to go.

“Our God is not sleeping and He is watching over everything happening to us now, let remind you that it is not by their power or their might that they are in power today, we too will win again come 2019 by His grace.”

Secondus declared that the era of imposition and all forms of impunity in the Party had gone for good as his team would henceforth conduct ‎the activities of the party according to its constitution and the laws of the land.

Secondus commeded the members of the BoT for their supportive roles when the party was in deep crisis and assured them the new NWC would work closely with them in ensuring the Party’s total victory in 2019.

On the suit instituted against by a former National Chairman Aspirant, Prof Taoheed Adedoja. Secondus dismissed it as a non-issue which would be handled squarely

Earlier, the Chairman of the Board, Senator Walid Jibril, had extolled the leadership qualities of the new National Chairman of the party and absolute confidence in him in leading the Party to victory in 2019.

The BoT boss counselled Secondus and his team on the need to carry the BoT along in the task ahead of repositioning and rebuilding party for victory in the 2019 general elections.
