Olowu of Kuta, High Royal Highness, Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama, has described the Governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, as a silent achiever whose work is under Reported.

In a statement issued by his media office on Tuesday, to react to the attempt by some people on the social media to rubbish the O-Meal program that is being rebranded, Olowu said since assumption of office, Governor Oyetola has shown the stuff he is made off as a seasoned administrator.

The revered monarch said that apart from the Ultra Modern Fire Fighting Equipment that he commissioned recently, many of the healthcare facilities across the state of the Livingspring is functioning now.

“He has turned the sod to embark on massive road rehabilitation and reconstruction across the state.

“There is Economic Summit ongoing now in the state with the sole aim to diversify and revamp our economy to the optimum level.

“Besides, what people mistook for commissioning is the rebranding of the O-Meal, a project that was so popular that the Federal Government had to make it the thrust of its educational policy aimed at giving the pupils balanced diet that will help boost their performance,” he said.

Oba Makama maintained that if there is anything, Governor Oyetola has shown leadership since he assumed office, adding that people should not play politics to the detriment of the development strides of the state government.

It will be recalled that Governor Oyetola at the flag-off ceremony of distribution of cooking utensils, uniforms and feeding bowls to food vendors on Monday charged them to live up to expectations.

He said; “As you will all recall, the O’ Meal initiative was conceived to augment parents’ caregiving efforts and essential to produce children who are physically and mentally balanced to contribute to making Osun the best place to be, to work and to rest.

“Today, our Administration is giving a boost to the initiative by empowering our newly- recruited food vendors to deliver service in a professional, efficient and effective manner.

“Towards the end of the season 2018/2019 academic session, the process of recruiting a new set of food vendors in the state started. Today, I have the honour to present the newly recruited food vendors to you for the purpose of empowerment.

“I want to appreciate the Osun Elementary School Feeding and Health Programme ( O’MEAL) for putting in place a transparent procedure to select these new crops of food vendors.

“The last administration employed and empowered about 3,007 vendors to serve food to our children. – our Administration has recruited additional 2,210 vendors from all the 30 Local Government Areas and one (1) Area Office to ensure easy and efficient service delivery.”

The monarch said since the Governor assumed office, he has ensured prompt payment of salaries, adding that he just release N475million to Ladoke Akintola.

The University of Technology, LAUTECH In fulfilment of the promise to the higher institution jointly owned by Osun and Oyo states.

Other achievements listed by Oba Makama are the improvement in the internally generated revenue and infrastructure development.
