Police operatives from Ikotun Division in Lagos led by CSP Adagba Johnson, have arrested a 44-year old man, Oyedeji Nurudeen, for allegedly having regular sex with his under aged daughters.

The incident happened at Oshidola Street, Pako Bus Stop, Igando Road in Ikotun, where they reside.

Police sources alleged that the suspect, Nurudeen, had been sleeping with his daughters aged now 17 and 14 since 2015 till 2020 when he was exposed. By implication, he started defiling the elder daughter when she was 12 while the younger one at 9.

The whole thing came to light after the elder daughter exposed him and the young one revealed that he was also sleeping with her.

The matter was reported to Family Support Unit in Ikotun and Nurudeen was arrested. He reportedly confessed doing so.

Having been found culpable, he was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty.

However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in a Correctional Centre without an option of bail and directed the Prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter may likely be transferred to the High Court if from the DPP’s advice he is found culpable and it recommends for his trial.

Meanwhile, the matter was adjourned but the defendant will remain in custody pending the outcome of the advice from the DPP.
