Accreditation of delegates has begun in the ongoing governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State.
About 2,111 delegates are expected to participate in the primary.
Eight aspirants, including Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, Ayorinde Bode, Ebiseni Sola, Eyitayo Jegede, Kunlere Boluwaji, Okunomo Banji Ben, Olafeso Eddy and Godday Erewa were cleared to contest at the primary.
Delegates had a hectic time getting through the entrance gate as they had to be properly identified.
Chairman of the Primary Committee and Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who arrived the venue at about 1:30pm,assured the exercise would be free and fair.
Meanwhile, some PDP youths, who had earlier protested, to the venue were not allowed entrance.
The youths alleged that some persons were caught with already thumb printed ballot papers.
They accused one of the aspirants of being the brain behind the thumbprinted ballot papers.
But a chieftain of the party, who pleaded anonymity, said the ballot papers found on those persons were specimeñ used for training of party personnel.
Voting was about to begin as at press time.
