The PPRO said that this prompted the DPO, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle to move to the scene with policemen. Oyeyemi stated: “on getting there, the DPO and his men met a 25-year-old man, simply identified as Sunday, in the pool of his blood as a result of several machete cuts injuries on his body.

“The policemen chased and got the five suspects arrested in the area.”

He disclosed that the victim was taken to General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The PPRO added that a trailer driver, whose name was given as Mohammed, was injured, while one Olalekan Alade was dispossessed of his mobile phone.

Five other phones of different brands were said to have been recovered from the suspects.

Speaking further, DSP Oyeyemi said that the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun had ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Eleweran, Abeokuta for discreet investigation.

The police commissioner also directed that the policemen should look for the fleeing members of the cult group and make them face the law.
