A chairmanship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oorelope Local Government, Raheem Akeem Adepoju, fondly called ARA, has urged the teeming members of the party to remain calm following the postponement of the party primary by 72 hours.
Raheem, who stated this in a press statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, said the party hierarchy knew best for postponing the primary, stating, however, that there is no cause to panic for members of the PDP in Oorelope Local Government.
According to Raheem, the postponement news jolted a majority of party members who were ready and determined to kickstart the process to put in place a local government administration that is ready to work in sync with the vision of the Governor Seyi Makinde in Oorelope.
He stated, however, that whenever the exercise takes place, he remained confident of victory because PDP members in the local government are determined to take back their government at the local council.
“I urge my people to remain steadfast and calm amid news of the postponement of PDP Primary.
“Our leaders at the state level under the guidance of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, must have strong reasons for the postponement and we are sure that it is in the best interest of the party.
“Though I am aware that the majority of PDP members in Oorelope Local Government have geared up and were ready to speak in clear terms against some individuals who rode on the platform of PDP but decided to sideline the party for close to two years.
“My people made this clear in the ad-hoc delegates’ election, where we won 22 out of 30 slots. So, I urge them to remain focused and prepared for any time the rescheduled primary will take place.
“As I said before, a dawn of a new era is coming to Oorelope Local Government and under our watch, the local government will move in sync with the vision of our Governor on the four service point agenda of education, health, security and economic expansion.”
