The Karu community of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has engulfed in panic following a street protest by commercial motorcycle operators.
Police and soldiers have been, reportedly, deployed to restore peace and order.
The protesters were going about destroying vehicles and attacking innocent persons.
It was gathered the riot, which started in the morning, has forced many churches in the area to lock their gates asking their members to remain inside the church so as not to be caught in the crossfire.
Already, soldiers and police personnel have been deployed to the area to maintain law and order.
They are battling the protesters who are fighting back with stones and other weapons.
Residents of Karu, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo, Karshi among other towns in the area are trapped as residents and motorists have been asked to keep off the route until normalcy is restored.
The attack, according to Daily Trust source, was perpetrated by militants suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Sunday, May 9.
Reporters At Large gathered that no life was lost, though police officers working at the station were forced to relocate to a nearby TradeMoore housing estate as insecurity rises in the southeast region.
Meanwhile, Reporters At Large earlier reported that Bende Local Government Area of Abia State has been thrown into pandemonium as gunmen invaded Ubani Market Police Station in the community and set it on fire.
