City People Magazine Events Centre at Gbagada in Lagos State was filled to the brim when the staff of City People Media Group led by the Publisher,’ Dr. Seye Kehinde hosted the talented juju maestro, Witty Wale Thompson, popularly referred to as Mr. Lalale Friday.
In his welcome address, the Chief host, Mr ‘Seye Kehinde, saluted all the giants in the music industry that graced the event including the Bonsue fuji king, Adewale Ayuba, National President, Ajum, Queen Ayo Balogun and others, saying, ” we are hosting Wale Thompson tonight because of his new album, titled ” My destiny who is making waves now globally. We need this because he has contributed a lot to the juju music industry.
Queen Ayo Balogun in her remarks said ” I appreciate Wale Thompson because he is one of the best juju musicians that still sings original and undiluted juju music. I call him Crown Prince of juju music.
Adewale Ayuba in his own comments stressed, ” I am happy to be here today to celebrate my name sake, Wale I think everyone present here know me as Wale and again celebrating another Wale. Hmmm, three days ago, I listened to his latest album I said waooo this is good music and it will go far. Wale Thompson which I fondly call Mr Wility is a multi-talented instrumentalist and a very good musician.”
Ayuba added, “I thank Dr Seye Kehinde for celebrating us in the entertainment industry. Seye Kehinde has done a lot in making us be what we are today and I pray to God to continue to strengthen him in Jesus name Ayuba said.
Wale Thompson in his response, said, “My sincere appreciation goes to everyone that shows up tonight to honour me at the Grand Reception holding on my behalf by City People Media Group. I am grateful for your love and support always. My special appreciation goes to Dr Seye Kehinde for the honour and opportunity. I also thank my Industry colleagues for their presence and support namely, Queen Ayotunde Balogun, distinguished President, Association of Juju Musicians and the Aare Adewale Ayuba, The King of Bonsue Fuji. Also, my appreciation goes to the Eletu Edibo family proudly represented by Prince A. Eletu. I pray for God’s blessings and protection over you. Wale said.
The hit tracks of the album according to wale include; Happy Days, Chop my life, Owambe, Destiny and Yoruba Unite.
Wale Thompson got into the industry many decades ago and has been able to become a force to reckon with.
