Oyo House Deputy Chief Whip, Yussuf Adebisi Calls For Peace In Foko, Others As Ileya Festival Beckons

The Deputy Chief Whip in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi has charged men of operation burst and Nigeria police agents to ensure maintenance of law and order in the volatile areas of Ibadan Southwest Constituency 1

Hon Adebisi gave the charge during his visit to the volatile areas especially Foko -Itasaku which was rocked by a fresh gang violence attack

According to the youngest lawmaker who is representing Ibadan Southwest State Constituency 1 in the Oyo state House of Assembly, there is the need for the residence in the area to give peace a chance by remaining calm and trust the security men on the ground.

“There is the need to ensure peace and stability to reign and we are reassuring our people that they should have a rest of mind as all hands are on deck especially from all security apparatus in the state to maintain law and order and make sure our people enjoy the coming Sallah celebration”, he said.

Hon. Yusuf who has since relocated to the constituency to make sure there is a lasting peace met with all parties involved, signed an undertaking with the police and Operation Burst team including himself that nothing of such must not happen again.

After meeting with the heads of the family and Mogaji of the compound, he sounds a note of warning to the youths and asked the leaders to call their wards to order as government shall not tolerate such incidents henceforth.

He urged the community, religious leaders, including the recognised youths, men and women associations to cooperate with security operatives and his office to give useful information on anybody who is causing an unnecessary crisis in the neighbourhood.

He used the opportunity to brief the entire community on the state of things on the Police Station construction project, saying work is ongoing but confirmed that some elders of the community are against it but he is ready to do the needful for the community.

Hon. Adebisi, who, however, congratulated the Muslim faithful for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, called for a peaceful Sallah and advised everyone to abide by the teachings of the celebration which is sacrifice.
