When a major player in the local tourism market hits a decade of operations, the standard playbook dictates lavish corporate parties and flashy marketing campaigns. Yet, the Presken Hotels 10th anniversary has taken a radically different, far more commendable path by embedding a Presken Cares foundation initiative directly into its core business framework.

Marking the birthday of its Chairman, Mr. Kadiri Momoh, the Ikeja-based hotel chain chose to celebrate milestone success not with inward-looking luxury, but with a structural commitment to hospitality corporate social responsibility.

This shift from simple corporate growth to active Lagos community outreach signals a deeper understanding of what modern businesses owe the society that sustains them.

Moving Beyond Simple Profit in Local Hospitality

True corporate citizenship is rare in a cut-throat economic climate. The launch, held on June 4, 2026, signifies a major milestone in Presken Hotel’s decade-long journey of hospitality excellence and social impact.

The initiative reflects the organization’s philosophy that corporate success should extend beyond business growth and translate into meaningful contributions that uplift surrounding communities and improve lives.

Far too often, African businesses treat philanthropy as an afterthought—a tax write-off or a fleeting photo opportunity. By institutionalising this effort, Presken sets a new standard for local operators, showing that community development must run parallel to commercial expansions.

Institutionalising the Presken Cares Foundation

The difference between casual giving and a dedicated charity arm lies in long-term strategy. Speaking during the launch, the Managing Director of Presken Hotels, Mr. Pius Obaje, stated that the organization has consistently undertaken impactful outreach and humanitarian activities over the years.

According to him, the formal establishment of the Presken Cares foundation is a strategic step towards institutionalizing the hotel’s commitment to social responsibility.

“Over the years, Presken Hotels has quietly supported various charitable causes and community projects. Today, we are proud to officially launch Presken Cares, which will focus on touching lives, providing assistance, and restoring hope to the less privileged and vulnerable members of society,” Obaje said.

He noted that the initiative aligns with the vision of the Chairman, Mr. Kadiri Momoh, whose leadership has guided the hotels group’s growth over the past decade while emphasizing the importance of giving back to the society. This structured approach moves away from ad-hoc donations towards measurable, sustained social assistance.

Direct Action in Lagos Community Outreach

A strategy is only as good as its real-world execution. To mark the Presken Hotels 10th anniversary, the corporate team took direct action across the state, visiting areas that need immediate welfare support. As part of activities marking the launch, Mr. Obaje led members of the management team on outreach visits to several beneficiary communities and institutions across Lagos.

The team visited Bethesda Home for the Blind in Surulere, Little Saints Orphanage in Ogudu and the Makoko community in Yaba, where they donated various food items, household essentials, and other relief materials aimed at supporting residents and improving their welfare. The beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. The donations brought smiles to many faces and reinforced the importance of corporate organisations partnering with communities to address social challenges.

A New Standard for Hospitality Corporate Social Responsibility

The launch of Presken Cares underscores Presken Hotel’s commitment to sustainable community development and social inclusion. Beyond hospitality services, the organization seeks to create lasting positive change by supporting education, healthcare, welfare programs, and other initiatives that empower vulnerable groups.

As the brand moves into its next decade, this structural integration of social welfare offers a blueprint for competitors. As Presken Hotels celebrates ten years of growth and excellence in the hospitality industry, the introduction of Presken Cares marks the beginning of a new chapter, one driven by compassion, community impact, and a shared commitment to building a better society.

The dual celebration of the Chairman’s birthday and the hotel’s 10th anniversary provided a fitting occasion to reaffirm the organization’s values and dedication to making a difference where it matters most.

“With Presken Cares now officially launched, the hotels chain has set a strong foundation for expanding its social impact and ensuring that its success continues to create opportunities, hope, and support for communities across Nigeria”, Obaje concluded.

Ultimately, this milestone shows that the truest measure of hospitality is not found in the number of rooms filled, but in the number of lives changed.
