Bishop Advises Politicians To Put God First In Their Activities

Politicians have been enjoined to cast their burden on to God and in return accept God’s yoke that was lite and easy to carry.

The Bishop of Ekiti Diocese and Archbishop Of Ondo Eccesial Province, Most Rev. Dr. Chris Temitayo Omotunde made the admonition during the harvest and thanksgiving service of the newly elected Chairman of Ifeloju local council Development Area , Comrade Babatunde Ogunmilugba held at Anglican Church of Transfiguration, Osin Ekiti.

Bishop Omotunde opined that God is the bestower of good things saying for any politician to be successful, he or she should accept the supremacy of God by obeying and doing the will of God. He added that politicians would give account of their stewardship to God.

Bishop Omotunde stressed that politicians should be faithful in their service to humanity : be fair and just to all and sundries . Saying they should be thankful in their present posts while God would elevate them in due course.

The Bishop reiterated the importance of family in governance . He enjoined politicians to build and ensure peace reign supreme in their homes.Saying if the home was peaceful, it would reflect in serving God and the masses.

The newly elected Chairman, Comrade Babatunde Ogunmilugba was full of praises to God for bestowing him the chairmanship post when he was least expected. Comrade Ogunmilugba had held the chairmanship post in Oye Local Government between 2008–2010.

Bishop Omotunde prayed to God to grant the chairman and his wife sound health and God’s wisdom to be successful in the new assignment.

Dignitaries at the thanksgiving service among others were: the speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye, Hon. Yemi Osatuyi, member Ekiti state House of Assembly Oye constituency 2, Senior Special Assistant to Governor of Ekiti State on Roads, Transport and Infrastructure, Hon. Adunmo Sunday, Group Managing Director of Fountain Holdings, Mr Seyi Ayeleso, Chairman, Amotekun Corps, Mr Akin Aregbesola, Chairman House of Assembly Service Commission, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, Chief Mrs Kemisola Olaleye, Ilupeju Ekiti Youth President, Engineer Femi Fagbemi, National President Osin Progressive Union, Elder Patrick Olayemi, Mr Bisi Adesua, all newly elected councillors, vice Chairman, Mrs Olayinka Ameobi of Ifeloju LCDA, Ven. Dr Samuel Sunday Agunbiade Archdeacon, Ire Archdeaconry, Rev. Emmanuel O. Adeniyi Vicar, Rev. Kupolati, Rev, Ayeni Femi, Rev. Oyedele, traditional rulers and captain of industries among others.
