Yoruba Mandate Group under the leadership of Akogun Banji Ojo, has felicitated Muslims across the globe, especially of Yoruba origin for celebrating the three-day Eid al-Fitr festival, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
The Yoruba leader in his congratulatory message urges Muslims to continue to abide by the spirit of Ramadan, and the principles and teachings of Prophet Muhammed to champion the true course of humanity concerning peace, love and unity.
Akogun Ojo notes, “This is a crucial time in the political history of Nigeria, as the country prepares for a transitional government as the election draws near, and the role of the people in promoting peace and harmony cannot be underestimated. This is the time for our Muslim brothers and sisters to continue seeking the face of Allah, through prayers and supplications for a peaceful country.
“In this same light, we call on the political leaders of the country to embrace the true essence of the principles of Prophet Muhammed in their leadership skills in discharging their responsibility to respect humanity at all costs. We also charge the government to be conscious of transparency in the forthcoming election, and allow the will of the people to prevail.”
