All roads to the prestigious Mauve 21 Events Centre, Ring Road, Ibadan, were jam-packed last weekend, as a living legend and gospel music Meastro, Dr Evangelist (Mrs.) Funmi Aragbaiye buried her mother, Madam Comfort Omopelade Olasoji Fawehinmi, who died early this year at the age of 95 years.
The final burial ceremony held on Friday, 29th of April, 2022 with praises, was coordinated by the national GOMAN.
While speaking in an interview REPORTERS AT LARGE, Chief Ebenezer Obey, Dr.( Evangelist) Adelakun (Ayewa) Mama Fasanyi (Odun nlo sopin), Dr (Evangelist)Toun Soetan, representatives of Governors Adegboyega Oyetola and Rotimi Akeredolu, described the deceased, as a woman of Integrity, peace-loving and easy-going who used her life to serve God and humanity.
They also showered encomium on the daughter of the deceased, Dr Evangelist (Mrs.) Funmi Aragbaiye, to continue to grow from strength to strength and anointing of God to be with her.
Others are Mama Bola Are, Evangelist Timi Orokoya (Telemi), Lambsster Praise, Evangelist Racheal Akinade (Senwele Jesu), Toyin Adegbola (Ajoke Asewo), Oyo Nuj Chairman, Com. Demola Babalola, Former Cooperate affairs Manager, Fan Milk Plc, Oyekemi Wilson and others showered Encomiums on the National Goman President, Dr Evangelist Funmi Aragbaiye for the good grand reception given to her late mother and prayed for the blessing of God to continue in her life.
Meanwhile, a music album titled, “Sweet Mother” was composed and produced by Evangelist (Dr.) Funmi Aragbaiye in honour of her late mother, Madam Comfort Fawehinmi, was presented at the event.
Mama Aragbaiye In her vote of thanks, appreciated all the people that graced the occasion starting from the royal fathers, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, (Ojaja II) Ooni of Ife, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, represented by his wife, Olori Adedapo Tejuoso, Olowo of Owo, former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, ably represented by his wife Chief Mrs Obasanjo, Engr. “Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Arakunrin Akeredolu of Ondo State and Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State.
She also thanked the Iyalode of Egbaland, Chief Mrs Iyabode Lawson, Most Revd. Dr J. O. Akinfenwa, Bishop of Ibadan Diocese represented by Very Revd. (Dr.) Olasoji Olagbaju, Provost, Cathedral of St James The Great, Oke Bola, Ibadan, and other clergymen in attendance.
Present at the event includes the movers and shakers in the entertainment industry, the cream de la cream of the society, children, relatives and friends of the family.
