A leading aspirant for the Oluyole State House of Assembly in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Yuusuf Ademola Oyepeju, popularly known as Ara, on Monday expressed optimism that the party will oust the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government in Oyo State in 2023.
Oyepeju, who is the chairman of Alwajeez Int Nig Ltd and the founder of ARA Foundation, a non-governmental organization, said this in Ibadan while speaking with journalists after obtaining an expression of interest and nomination form at the party secretariat.
He said the party is poised to ensure that APC clears all seats in Oyo State and at the National level, come 2023.
Speaking about his ambition, the young entrepreneur said “This is a step towards achieving my dreams of rendering quality representation and facilitating development to our people.
“There is no doubting the fact that our people are yearning for better and quality representation at the State House of Assembly, and other levels of government. I am ready to be their ears and eyes as well as to let their voice be heard at the State Assembly.
Speaking on his ambition Oyepeju said, “I have been on this for quite some time. Before politics, God has been using me as an instrument through the ARA Foundation to assist some of the less privileged in society and touch lives. So, coming into politics is basically to use the opportunity of being in government to facilitate more development for my constituency and help the society to grow faster and better.
“I won’t be a rubber stamp lawmaker if elected. I grew up in the local communities, I know where the shoe pinches and I am ready to alleviate their suffering if elected.”
He was accompanied to the party secretariat by scores of supporters, party leaders and youths.
