Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Dr Kola Balogun, has officially decamped to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The lawmaker was received at the party Secretariat by the Party Chairman, Hon Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, and the entire state working committee, as well as some notable leaders of the party.
REPORTERS AT LARGE had earlier reported that Senator Balogun, in a letter addressed to the chairman of the party in Ward 12, Ibadan North-East Local Government Area, resigned his membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Other party stalwarts at the event included: Hon Mojeed Olaoya, Senator Teslim Folarin, Senator Buhari Abdulfatai, and Hon Segun Dokun Odebunmi, Asimiyu Alarape, Hon Yemi Aderibigbe, former Minister of the communications, Bar Bayo Shittu, Sen Brimoh Yusuff, Lamiju Alao Akala and Demola Omotosho.
The elated party chairman, in his welcome remark, noted that he was happy that the APC is waxing stronger and better daily.
“Yes, we have misunderstandings within ourselves in the APC but we have resolved the issues; there is no more crisis. We are united and by the grace of God, we are returning to the Agodi government house in 2023.
Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe, Hon Demola Omotosho and others who also spoke at the event emphasised that the incumbent Governor of the Pacesetter State, “Engr. Seyi Makinde Must Go in 2023.”
Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, during the event that set the Oke-Ado area of Ibadan agog, declared his gubernatorial ambition.
