General Coordinator of Yoruba Mandate Group, Akogun Banji Ojo¸ has described the call of some Nigerians clamouring for the return of the former president, Goodluck Jonathan to governance, as disgraceful and political miscalculation based on bias and greedy interests centred on the zoning principles.

Banji-Ojo, while delivering a speech addressing Nigerian students of Yoruba origin in London said “the call was in line to march Nigeria to total destruction, and complete collapse of the economy of the country, due to the manner corruption dominated all spheres of governance under the leadership of Ebele Goodluck Jonathan.”

He said, “The legitimacy of Jonathan’s return is highly questioned by law, morality and interest of the common man. The question of morality is vividly exhibited by the deeds of people in his cabinet, and how they ruined the country’s economy through unparalleled display of corruption in Nigerian political history.

“He should exonerate himself from the atrocities committed under his nose as his number one citizen of the country. Madueke Diezani’s case is a critical exhibition of your failed political career, and a serious damage to your integrity as a leader.

He also noted that “Through the ethical conduct of the law, Jonathan has served six years, while his emergence as President would result to ten years of service- which have obstructed the eight years plan of two terms. He already served as president of six years spanning two terms due to the death of his principal, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. This will result to political imbalance and may result to a crisis.

“It is the Cabal rooting for his emergence, and frankly speaking he is not a member of APC. If due process is being observed, there are no chances for him to even contest at the primaries. He should always have at his consciousness that he thoroughly failed the common man’s interests, and caused serious damage to leadership. He should learn to bury his head in shame if truly he understands how he rubbished providence as regards his years of leadership.”

“His failure to implement the demands of National Confab during is tenure reflects his hatred for Southerners, especially for the quest of inclusive governance in order to correct the marginalized system. His emergence would pave way for just a term of fours of leadership for a southern president, with hope of returning power to the hands of the North. This is the reason, most people involved in his reemergence are mostly from the North. Johnathan and his political allies are aiming to serve us porridge for our rights.”
