Renowned juju maestro, Michael Alaba Adedayo Omoshilade, popularly called Micho Ade will on Sunday, June 5, 2022, celebrate 50 years since he started performing on stage as a juju musician.
The event scheduled to hold at Felicia Hall, Jogor Centre, Liberty Road, Ibadan, will be graced by creme de la creme in the society, as well as movers and shakers in the music industry, including entrepreneurs and a host of others.
The programme is expected to start on Wednesday, 1st of June, 2022 with a lecture, titled: “Music As Catalyst For Sustainable Socio-Cultural Values,” to be delivered by Ambassador, Yemi Forounbi.
Oloye Lekan Alabi will be Chairman of the Occasion which will hold at the Oyo NUJ Press Center, Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan, starting from 10.00 am prompt.
On Thursday, 2nd of June, 2022, there will be a musical concert at CAC, Ile Anu at Akala Expressway, New Garage, Ibadan.
The grand finale will be on Sunday, 5th of June at Felicia Hall, Jogor Centre, Liberty Road, Ibadan by 12 noon.
Chairman, Equitorial Energy Lagos and Ever Green Music Boss, Otunba Olusola Adewumi and Bimbo Esho would be the Chairman and Chairperson on the occasion while the Father of the Day is Omo’oba Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye (KSA).
Queen Ayo Balogun will be Mother of the Day, as Dr Yinka Ayefele(MON) is expected to be the Chief Host.
Royal Fathers of the Day are His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife and His imperial Majesty Oba Dr Moshood Olalekan Balogun, Alli Okumade II, Olubadan of Ibadanland.
According to the organizers of the event, Seyifunmi Odunuga of Apreel1 Events Management, the programme is going to serve as a platform for the launch of the Micho Ade Foundation and Music School.
The two projects are to enable the top musician to give back to society in appreciation for a successful career.
While speaking with journalists, Micho Ade expressed joy and gratitude to God for giving him the grace to attain 50 years of on-stage performance.
While sharing his experience in the music industry, he stated that his sojourn into music started after his secondary school education, when he joined Jossey Ayorinde and his Morning Star Band in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti state.
Having stayed with Jossey Ayorinde for seven years, Micho Ade left Ikere Ekiti and came to start his band in Ibadan in 1976. While in Ibadan, he met the likes of Idowu Animashaun, uncle Toye Ajagun, Abayomi Domigo, Taiwo Omotunde, among others.
He has over the years continued to promote juju music with his various albums.
Others to grace the occasion are Bonsue King, Adewale Ayuba, Juju Maestro, Witty Wale Thompson and Jufuji King, King Dele Bravo.
