The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Segun Oni, has raised the alarm over the alleged kidnapping of some leaders of the party by agents of the All Progressives Congress, with the backing of some security agents.
He said this while speaking with journalists at his campaign office in Ado Ekiti on Friday.
He said it was worrisome that some of the leaders of the SDP were being ‘kidnapped’ by some APC agents.
He specifically warned the Chief Security Officer to Governor Kayode Fayemi, saying, “Don’t use yourself to set the Elite State on fire.”
Segun Oni said, “The situation where you go to the house of our people and kidnap them, as it is being done now, is worrisome.
“They should be told to stop because they are testing the patience and tolerance of the people.
“We won’t tell our people to resist them at all costs, and we can’t say they should obey them at all costs because they are carrying out illegal orders.”
He also warned against manipulation, saying the electoral guidelines must be strictly followed.
