Hon Tesleem Babatunde Jimoh, vying to represent the good people of Ibadan North West under the platform of All People Congress (APC), has vowed to transform the state of education in Ibadan North West Constituency if elected in the 2023 general election.
In an interactive session with journalists in Ibadan on Thursday, Jimoh made it known that the drastic transformation of the educational sector remains the core agenda of his political adventure.
According to him, “Ibadan North West remains the heartbeat of Oyo State regarding education ranging from primary to higher tertiary institutions owned by the state government begging for serious attention. The focus is to build a conducing environment secured with a proper educational system.
“The decaying state of the education contributes mainly to the high rate of insecurities inherent in our society because ignorance is deadlier than thuggery, terrorism and banditry combined together. The educational transformation should be the focus of any people-centred government.
“There are about 17 primary schools, 11 secondary schools and 3 higher institutions in our constituency but the sorry state in respect to infrastructural structures is disgraceful to any well-meaning government. My focus within the first six months in office is to press demands from right quarters for a functional educational system,” he concluded.
