Group Managing Director, Yes 101.7 FM and Yemi Sonde Media Academy, Mr Yemi Sonde, has said music is a great tool to boost moral and inculcate values in the society.
He said this in his office, Yes 101.7FM at Yemi Sonde Crescent, Felele, Ibadan when the Chairman, planning committee, Pasuma @ 55, Mr Seun Awodele and Chief Executive Officer, Apreel1 Events Management, Seyifunmi Odunuga popularly called Seyichicago visited him in his office for the preparation of 55th birthday ceremony of the Fuji Music Icon, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma which Yes 101.7 FM is organizing for him in Ibadan.
Yemi Sonde said, “Music is a moral booster because when people lose their value they lose everything, but culture and value can be expressed through music.
Sonde further said that music is a time capsule as it can serve as the bitter truth in human behavior to have a positive change of mind, adding that it is also an act of entertainment which sweetens the heart of the people.
The Yes 101.7 FM boss also refered to music as a tool of influence on people and fashion trend because people always follow the dress pattern of their favourite artists which Pasuma has done.
Sonde further stated that music serves as a catalyst for change as Wasiu Alabi Pasuma uses songs to speak on behalf of the people who are voiceless using Fela Anikulapo Kuti, “Suffering and smiling” as a point of emphasis, noting that the song came as a result of the pains people were going through at the period.
He then praised Wasiu Alabi Pasuma for not relenting in his musical career, imploring him to continue the good work he has started that made the fast-growing Radio Station, Yes 101.7 FM celebrate him.
Chairman planning committee of Pasuma @ 55 disclosed that the event will hold on Thursday, 24th of November, 2022 at the prestigious hall of Mauve 21, Ring Road, Ibadan. He stressed that the event would be packaged by Apreel 1 Events Management.
“Prominent personalities, people across the world, creme de la creme in the society, celebrities, stakeholders in the music industry are expected to grace the occasion”, Awodele said.
