Hon. Sunday Oni, who is vying to represent the good people of Ibadan SouthWest and Northwest Constituency 2, Oyo State, under the aegis of the Labour Party, has promised leaders of the Oke-Bola Community that his political adventure will have a keen focus on education as a bid to lay a grounding foundation for the growth and development of society.

This was disclosed during a courtesy visit to the community on Wednesday. His hopeful emergence is set to change the narrative of Leadership and service to humanity, with a keen interest in educational transformation.

He said, “I am promising to build one school each in the two constituencies and champion the need for infrastructural renovation of our existing schools. The level at which the concerned authorities destructively ignore our schools has ruined education, giving the youth an edge in reasoning contests for the sake of prosperity.

“I am of the opinion that at least one computer in each class from primary to higher institutions. My political involvement is based on a serious need to change the narrative of education as a tool of the light, and hope for the future. We are building a kind of standard that will make our children compete intellectually with their peers in China or America.

“We are hopeful that the future of the country depends largely on the children, and education remains the most potent weapon in their hands as a legacy of greatness. Any government that doesn’t respect the place of education is laying a foundation for destruction, darkness and poverty.
