League of Diaspora Support Groups, under the leadership of Akogun Banji Ojo, has warmed London-based members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Peter Obi’s Obidient to desist from plans to disrupt the arrangement to meet the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Tinubu, at Chatham House on Monday.

This is contained in a press statement signed by Amb. Otunba Jafaru Braimoh on behalf of Diaspora groups and Tinubu Support Groups across 43 countries, that security and investigative reports have shown that there are strong indications that IPOB members and Obidient fans are planning to disrupt the Peaceful Chatham House Visitation of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, all in the name of protest.

The statement reads in parts, “Following the series of consultative meetings with top security personalities and concerned authority, we can pledge that there are proper security measures in place. We equally wish to inform the general public that the Yorubas in the Diaspora own it as a duty to protect and ensure a peaceful environment and coexistence, especially considering the political atmosphere that will determine the fate of the largest Black Nation in the world, Nigeria.

“We are conscious that Nigerian societies across the world remain one family, and political sentiments should not play a role in the discharge of our political conscience. We appeal to the Nigerian Embassy in the United Kingdom that the Town Hall meeting is for the fate of every Nigerian, irrespective of location, place, gender, or tribe.

“LDSG boldly guarantee the state of security ahead, during and after the visitation, because proper measures have been taken to address security concerns and answer the crowd management policies and arrangements in respect to harness the common values, the unifying heritage, the collective enterprise and the latent capacities of our people to advance a composite Yoruba Development Agenda, and Nigeria at large”.
